Netflix bought global rights to the upcoming film ‘The Life Ahead’ by famous Italian actress Sophia Lauren. The Oscar-winning actress will be seen on the big screen after almost a decade through ‘The Life Ahead’. The film is directed by Sophia Lauren’s son Edoardo Ponty.
In this film, 84-year-old Sophia Lauren plays the character of a Holocaust Survivor, who develops a special relationship with a 12-year-old immigrant child.
‘The Life Ahead’ is an adaptation of Romain Garry’s best seller novel, The Life Before. Earlier, Israeli filmmaker Moshe Mizrahi has also made a film on the novel, which won the Oscar in 1978. The global streaming platform will release the film later this year.
Expressing happiness over joining Netflix, Lauren said, “I am very happy to work with Netflix for this special film. I have worked with many big studios throughout my career, but I can feel free to say that no one else has the cultural diversity and audience reach like Netflix. ”
