Mumbai. Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have reached Supreme Court against the decision of Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to form government in Maharashtra. It is scheduled to be heard at 11.30 am. The bench of 3 judges will hear the case. The petition has demanded dismissal of the BJP government and a floor test within 24 hours. Meanwhile, security has been increased outside Ajit Pawar’s house.
The petition claimed that the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress was the largest party on the basis of numbers and they should have got the first opportunity to form the government. The bench of Justice NV Ramanna, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Sanjeev Khanna will hear the case in the Supreme Court. Shiv Sena, NCP will be represented by Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi. Attorney General Venugopal Rao will advocate on behalf of the Governor.
Several NCP MLAs who attended the swearing-in ceremony on Saturday morning again attended the party meeting in the evening. The party, taking strong action against Ajit Pawar, removed him from the post of Legislature Party leader.
The Congress-NCP and Shiv Sena have shifted their MLAs to the hotel. The three parties say that the BJP is trying horse trading. The Congress is sending its MLAs to Jaipur. While both NCP and Shiv Sena have kept their MLAs in hotels in Mumbai.
